Seventy-nine eighth graders and seven of their teachers traveled to Rocks Pond Ecosystem Restoration Site in Ruskin, Florida, last Friday. They brought the salt marsh they have been maintaining on campus all year with them on the bus. The goal of the trip was to transplant their salt marsh plants into the Bay. The students worked diligently to plant a total of over 5700 plugs of salt marsh. They have made a great contribution to the largest ecosystem restoration project in the Tampa Bay Area! "I am very proud of their efforts and contribution to the Bay Grasses in Classes program this year which culminated in the planting on Friday. Great job eighth graders!" said Kathryn Jeakle, Eighth Grade Marine Science Teacher.
