Varsity Football Wins Semifinals - on to State Championship!

by: Coach McCall, Athletic Director
The Varsity Football Chargers took on neighboring Canterbury in the State Semifinals on Friday, November 11. Shorecrest won: 53-7!

Consistency and dominance on the offensive and defensive lines were the main reasons for the team's success. The defense continued its stance as the best scoring defense in the state. No only did it hold our opponent to 7 points, it forced 4 turnovers and only yielded 42 yards of offense. The offense amassed 401 yards and scored on every possession except 2. Aneko Jackson '23 had a 55 yard touchdown run; Drew Bunn '23 had a 44 yard touchdown pass to Nickolas Bearden '25; there was an interception for a touchdown by Enrique Negrón.

The Varsity Football Chargers will play in the State Championship on Saturday, November 19 at 7pm at Bryant Stadium in Lakeland vs. Donahue Catholic.
