Chargers All-Alumni Weekend

by: Olivia Segalman, Associate Director of Advancement for Community Engagement and Events
It was wonderful having so many Chargers back to Shorecrest for our inaugural All-Alumni Weekend on October 21-23!

The weekend began with an Alumni Tailgate before the Homecoming football game. Chair of the Visual Arts Department, Charla Gaglio, and Athletics Director, Anthony McCall, welcomed Alumni back to campus. Members from the classes of 1982 and 2002 were able to gather and celebrate their milestone years.

On Saturday, Chargers alumni gathered for an All-Class Reunion at Grand Central Brewhouse. They joined together to celebrate five-year milestone classes: years ending in 2 and 7, as well as those ending in 0,1,5 and 6 – many of whom haven’t had a chance to celebrate together. Shoutout to the class of 1990 and 1991 who had the largest groups in attendance and even had someone travel back to St. Petersburg from California!

The weekend concluded with breakfast and tours of campus. It was amazing for alumni to see how much the Shorecrest campus has recently physically changed. As much as facilities may have changed – once you are a Charger, you are always a Charger!

It was truly a pleasure having alumni gather together to celebrate, and if you were not able to join us, you were missed!
