Heidi Hicks '21 Awarded Gold Key American Vision Award
The Pinellas County Art Region of the Scholastic Art Awards in Visual Arts received over 1200 student submissions in 14 categories which were adjudicated by six art judges in the very prestigious Scholastic national art recognition program. Award-winning artwork was shown during the Pinellas County Art Region’s Virtual Awards Ceremony on February 10, 2021. Heidi Hicks '21 won a Scholastic Gold Key American Vision Award and received a cash prize. Only five students earned this prestigious local award, and at least one of them will earn a national Gold Medal!
Blick Art Materials and the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers also presented a gift certificate to Heidi's exemplary teacher, Charla Gaglio, Shorecrest's Chair of the Visual Arts Department.
