New Attendance Notification System
Ms. Morlando and Dean Sessions are implementing a new attendance system. In the past, it could take an extended amount of time for the main office to notify parents when their children are either tardy or absent. This created a couple of problems. First, it made it hard for families and teachers to discuss the reasons for absences because they might have happened either a week or two weeks prior to the notification. Second, it didn’t keep parents/guardians abreast of the times when their child was either tardy or absent to class. We recognize that parents want to know immediately when their child is late to class or absent from school.

To better address this situation, our tech department has created an automated system to mirror those in many other schools across the country. Moving forward, parents will receive an email at 10am each morning if their child is marked absent that morning and they haven’t already contacted the office. Also, parents will receive an email at the end of each day that informs them if their child was absent or tardy for any classes. Hopefully this daily attendance notification system will help alleviate some of the problems mentioned above, and allow for more immediate communication between families and the main office regarding absences and tardies.
