On November 16-20 the Upper School celebrated Homecoming Week. All events were modified to meet our health and safety guidelines, and many were livestreamed to students while in advisory classrooms or at home for flexible learning. Monday - Wednesday were regular class days with the following judged dress-up themes:
  • Movie Star Monday [Photos]
  • Rivalry Tuesday [Photos]
  • Generation Wednesday (Freshman - Babies/Toddlers, Sophomores - Kids, Juniors - Adults, Seniors - Senior Citizens) [Photos]
Thursday was Class Color Competition Day. A few games of Slip and Slide Kickball started the day, and the juniors won! In the annual Brain Bowl competition, trivia was played Jeopardy-style and the seniors won! Powder Puff Football Games were played by the girls. The freshman football team won! Students also competed in volleyball matches, designed felt banners that were hung in the Rec Gym and judged, and were challenged to bring in food items for The Kind Mouse. 14,650 items will be donated to local, food-insecure children!

Powder Puff Cheerleading Routines were presented by boys from each grade. You can find videos here:
Special thanks to the Broadcasting Club, Dean Session, the Upper School Student Council, the Health & Safety Task Force, and all of the Shorecrest staff who worked with them to be sure everyone could follow the day's events virtually when necessary.

Friday was Green and Gold Day. Shortened Upper School classes left time at the end of the day for a special assembly to announce Mr. Spirit, the Homecoming Queen, and the results of the Homecoming competition on Haskell Field.

Congratulations to the 2020 Mr. Spirit, Rod Casteel '21, and the 2020 Homecoming Queen, Samia Hossain '21! The Homecoming Queen and Mr. Spirit were chosen from the Court by the Upper School student body. Watch a recording of the assembly here.

Congratulations to the Class of 2021 on winning the Homecoming class color competition day! More photos will be added here.
