Planning Ahead for Fall Festival, Oct. 30

by: Raffi Darrow, Ebytes Editor
A newly reimagined Fall Festival will take place for students on Friday, October 30.

Car Parade
On October 30, Experiential and Lower School families are invited to share in the spirit of Fall Festival by starting the day with a decorated Car Parade during morning carline. Adorn the outside of your car with fall decorations before coming to campus at your regular time. Thanks to the efforts of the Fall Festival committee, carline will have special decorations. Families of Flex Learners can join in the fun by driving through carline with their students in costume. We would love to see you!

Students should arrive in costume and ready for a special morning of activities! Only current, on-campus students should exit their vehicles. Adults, please remain in your vehicles with a mask on for everyone’s safety. We will share plenty of photos with you!

Costume Guidelines
Costumes should be comfortable and easy to move and dance in while wearing. Fall-themed Tshirts are welcome as well. Art projects may be messy. Everyone still needs to have their mouth and nose covered by a cloth face mask. A costume mask is not a substitute, but a cloth mask may be worn under a costume. Remember that since there are young children on campus, costumes should not be gory. No costume weapons please. Also please keep in mind, making the choice to dress up as someone from another culture, even with the best of intentions, can lead to inaccurate and hurtful portrayals of cultures of other people in the Shorecrest community.

ES students can bring a change of Spirit Wear clothes to change into after a costume share. All costume items should be labeled with your child’s full name.

There will not be time for Lower School students to change clothes. Lower School students should be able to see easily and play at recess in their costumes.

ES/LS Flexible Learning Families
There will be a special package for you to pick up on the morning of Tuesday, October 27
  • ES package pickup: October 27, 9am-2pm, parents/guardians of Flex Learners should stop by the ES to pick up a Fall Festival package.

3-day Alpha students are invited to participate in the activities on the morning of Friday, October 30. On-campus learners may join in person and Flexible Learners may join virtually.
