Following a discussion with the physicians on the Shorecrest Health & Safety Task Force, a review of the current state of COVID-19 infection in our community and a examination of the impact the recent spike in cases is having on the hospital system, the Shorecrest Board of Trustees and Administration have determined to cancel all in-person, on-campus summer camps. All families who have paid a deposit or camp fees will receive full refunds.
We acknowledge the disappointment and disruption this decision may have on many families. Parents with questions or concerns about any issue related to Summer Programs are encouraged to contact Terry Kessel, Director of Auxiliary Programs at email@example.com.
We learn more each week about ways to increase health and safety for students, their families, faculty and staff. The decision to cancel Summer Programs allows us time to strengthen our Return to School Plans and preserve our resources to ensure we may open as safely as possible when school resumes in-person, on-campus on August 19.
As planned, communications with updates on the Health and Safety Statement and Return to School Plan will be sent on the 1st and 15th of each month. The July 15 communication will provide all families with information vital for a smooth and safe start of the 2020-2021 school year.
Our new Head of School, Nancy Spencer, will be on campus beginning June 29. She and other members of the administrative team are available to answer questions and provide guidance as we all plan for the return to school.
