6 Shorecrest Seniors Recognized by National Merit Program

Shorecrest seniors Kanaley Cenedella, Matthew Danielson,Nolan Pollack, Aliyah Samuelson and Kyle Wadley have been named National Merit Commended Scholars. Ceci Garcia, also Shorecrest Class of 2020, was named a National Hispanic Scholar. All 6 students were recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for the exceptional scores on the 2018 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).

Commended Students place among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2020 National Merit Scholarship competition, scoring in the top 3% nationwide. 

As a National Hispanic Scholar, Ceci Garcia is in the top 2.5% of Hispanic students in our region who took the PSAT and have achieved Scholar status in the College Board’s National Hispanic Recognition Program.

The national program recognizes approximately 7,000 academically outstanding Hispanic students from the 400,000 students who take the PSAT each year.
