From the creators of Webb’s City comes a new musical about Old Florida, Bay-Crossed lovers, Ancient rivalries, Tampa vs. St. Pete.
"Crossing the Bay" takes a romantic journey back to the founding of St. Petersburg, and is a show packed with local history and alive with characters. It is inspired by Jane Austen’s enduring classic, "Pride and Prejudice," reset in 1880's Tampa Bay. Crossing the Bay follows the struggle to bring the railroad and prosperity to the tiny town on Point Pinellas and the tumultuous relationship between a strong-minded Florida farm girl and the entitled nephew of a Northern rail baron.

Book & Direction by Bill Leavengood '78, Shorecrest alumnus and Upper School Musical Theatre Director. Music & Lyrics by Lee Ahlin, former Shorecrest guitar and band teacher. Musical Direction by Constantine Grame, conductor of many Shorecrest Performing Arts productions.
