On-Campus Sports Physicals, May 8

by: Athletic Department
One of the most significant responsibilities of an Athletic Department is to ensure compliance. A number of requirements factor into compliance with the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) and one of the most important is student-athletes’ annual physical exams. Student-athletes are ineligible without a current physical on file in the Athletic Director’s office and are prevented from participation with their team. This delay not only impacts the student-athlete who doesn’t have a current physical on file, but it also impacts that athlete’s teammates and coaches. A student’s physical exam is valid for one calendar year from the date it is performed.

In an effort to ensure our student-athletes physicals are current when their team’s practice begins, and ultimately eliminate practices missed as a result of expired physicals, we will offer physical examinations on campus this spring.

All Florida Orthopaedic Associates will perform physicals for Shorecrest student-athletes currently in grades 5-11 on Wednesday, May 8 at 5:30pm in the Athletic Center. Female and male physicians will be present to conduct the exams. This service will be made available to Shorecrest students only. The cost for the physical will be $20. Please save the date and plan for your child/children to take advantage of this service. If you have any questions please contact the Athletic Department.
