Community-inclusive DiningOur school community enjoys dining together in the new Dining Rooms of Charger Commons. The facility has dedicated space for Middle and Upper School student dining and for Lower School dining, a retail coffee and snack cafe, and a full-service commercial grade kitchen.
When the dining rooms opened this spring, Shorecrest launched SAGE's Community-inclusive dining program, a change from the SAGE retail program Shorecrest families have previously experienced.
Please see the SAGE Dining FAQs document for detailed information about the new program. The FAQs also have information about allergens, nutritional information, lunch times by grade, food for field trips, who to contact for questions, etc. Some highlights from the FAQs include:
How will I pay for food for the rest of the 2018-19 school year?
The first two weeks we were in the Dining Rooms, there was no charge for dining services. Beginning April 1, 2019, families will be billed for the remainder of the school year. Experiential and Lower School families will be billed $225 ($135 for 3-day Alpha students); Middle and Upper School families will be billed $275. Families of the Class of 2019 will not be charged for lunch for their remaining days on campus. The opt-out date of March 29, 2019, has passed.
Parents/guardians are welcome to join their children for lunch and experience the SAGE community-inclusive program for a price of $7.50. Registers are in the MS/US Dining Room and accept cash or MySchoolBucks.
What about next school year?
Beginning with the 2019-20 school year, lunch will be included in tuition. There will not be an opt-out option for the 2019-20 school year.
