  • Poetry in the Park

Our students are natural poets. To celebrate their poetic voice and Poetry Month we will be gathering for an informal poetry jam called Poetry in the Park. It will be the Lower School's culminating event for Celebrate the Arts week.

K-4 grade students will take turns sharing a class or grade level poem. The audience will be on the grass facing south (facing Charger Commons) and when on stage the students will face north.

When not on stage, students will sit with their classes on the Gaffney Green. Adult audience members may bring a towel, blanket or low beach chair to sit on, behind all of the LS classes. The front half of the lawn will be for the adult blankets and the back half will be for those wanting to sit in low beach chairs. This area is not shaded. Please do not bring beach umbrellas since they will block the view.

*Note: There is no rain date for this event. If it rains we will film each class indoors and share a video.
