Mitch Marois '10, the Outstanding Senior in his class, will return to speak to the Class of 2020 at their Commencement this May. As he prepares for his return he shares some advice beforehand: “At the end of the day, being a good person and a good friend matters more than any test scores or acceptance letters you get. Give 100% of yourself not only to your work, but also to your relationships.” We caught up with Mitch this summer for an alumni spotlight.

Shorecrest students are always striving to “Be More,” and some alums have done just that by making strong connections outside of Shorecrest. These connections have improved their leadership, service, and innovation skills. Since 1988, Shorecrest has sent 2-4 rising juniors to Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Seminar (HOBY).
The experiences had and people met while at Shorecrest really do have the potential of changing one’s life. Shorecrest instills values of service learning in each student who comes through the school. Dylan Leary '16 and Seif El Masry ‘16 are carrying this value forward into their adult lives. In 2015, the two traveled to Uganda as the Hursey Resort at Camp Saint Mary was nearing completion. Four years later, after spending some time in their respective fields of food and medicine, Dylan and Seif are returning to Soroti to utilize their skills and experience to transform the community. The two established People4Tomorrow, Inc.
