  • 1989 State Championship Baseball team reunites for 30th Anniversary

    Thirty years ago the Shorecrest Chargers celebrated their 9-3 victory over Miami Westminster Christian to win the 1989 Florida State Championship. The 1989 Shorecrest team also finished the season with the most wins in Shorecrest history. On Friday, April 5, Shorecrest will honor the team’s members prior to the varsity baseball game at 4:30pm. Friday’s festivities include a presentation of commemorative baseball caps, ceremonial first pitch and a pre-game program honoring the Charger baseball team. We congratulate the 1989 State Champion Charger team for reaching the pinnacle of success in high school baseball!

His interest in being professionally challenged has led to a successful career in business, marketing and product development with some of the world’s most creative companies. Grady currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of IMDb, a subsidiary of Amazon, and the world’s most popular and authoritative source for movie, TV and celebrity content. He oversees all aspects of the IMDb business including product development, design, editorial, engineering, and advertising across four offices in Seattle, Los Angeles, New York and Bristol, UK.

  • Celebrating Athletics

    Each year, the Shorecrest Athletics Program recognizes the male and female student-athlete of the year with the The Coach Philip Hayford Outstanding Male Athlete Award and The Fran Risser Outstanding Female Athlete Award. We will be presenting these awards as part of the Charger Hall of Fame event on Thursday, April 25, which starts with a reception at 5:30pm in the Janet Root Theatre Lobby, followed by the program at 6pm. To continue our celebration of athletics, this year’s State of St. Pete on Thursday, May 2 sponsored by the Alumni Association, is athletics minded. Matt Silverman, the President of the Tampa Bay Rays, Co-Chairman of the Tampa Bay Rowdies and Shorecrest Parent, will present.
