On Saturday, May 21, the 87 members of the Shorecrest Preparatory School Class of 2022 received their diplomas in the Janet Root Theatre. Read about the Commencement ceremony and special reflections shared.
Patrick Wilson (Shorecrest Class of 1991), the youngest of John and Mary K. Wilson’s boys, graduated from Tony-nominated performances in Broadway musicals to above-the-title roles in A-list films including Aquaman, Insidious, Running With Scissors, The A-Team and all three of the mega-hot movies in the Conjuring series. He received a Golden Globe nomination for the FX series Fargo.

In partnership with the Shorecrest Black Student Union and the Families of African American Students Affinity groups, Shorecrest is hosting an end-of-the-year celebration: Friday, June 10, 10am-2pm at Shorecrest, with a brief program honoring our recent graduates at 12pm and lunch available.

On Wednesday, May 18, 2022, Head of School, Nancy Spencer, welcomed Dr. Allen Root for a personal tour of the recently renovated Root Family Fine Arts Gallery adjacent to the Janet Root Theatre. A rededication established the space as the new home of the Janet Root Award for Excellence in Visual Arts.
